Merciful and gracious God, whose infinite love is beyond mortal comprehension, we humbly beseech thee to comfort thy grieving children as we witness thy only begotten Son stretched out upon the cross of human sin, so that we might have hope for redemption, joyfully sharing in the eternal presence of Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, now and forevermore. Amen.
