“Guide” | Reflection by Faith Kasor, Vestry Class of 2024

I chose the word “guide” because I have used this word to guide me through life and accomplishments. The word guide means to “follow or accompany for protection.” I choose God and my spirituality as a guide in my life for everything I do. I pray for everything and ask God for discernment before I do things. God is my fundamental belief and the principle for guiding me through life struggles. My spiritual guidance is the core value that helps me determine right from wrong and gives me direction in my daily life.

I rely on God for my existence and the purpose of my life on this earth. I asked God every day to guide and show me the right path to go and take care of all challenges before I am faced with them.

My relationship, family, careers, beliefs, and values are the core principle of my life and successes. I remembered when my children were younger as a single mother, the only thing that had me focused and resilient was my children and their well-being. Because of this I worked hard and trust God to survive. Perseverance and God’s guidance have given me the direction and strength to raise two wonderful young men of whom I am so proud.

Here I share a beautiful family photo of me and my 2 sons. I raised my boys to love God and treat everyone the same way they would like to be treated. I am so happy God has always been part of my life and has guided me throughout this journey. I have a discernment of the Holy Spirit leading me in the moment and revealing the truth for being a servant for God.

The Bible verse I use for guidance is John 16:13 – “When the spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.”
