Food Assistance
Throughout his ministry Jesus remembered the physical hunger of his followers, alongside their hunger for his transformative message. At Trinity we are actively engaged in multiple programs around food assistance for those who are unemployed or underemployed. Additional volunteers are always welcome - contact the Outreach and Justice Ministries Coordinator, click our “Volunteer” tab, or scroll down to learn more.
Seeking assistance for yourself or a loved one? Take a look at the resources below. Let us know how we can help.
Chapel on the Green
Every Sunday at 2pm we gather behind Trinity Church on the Green for an outdoor worship service, followed by a shared meal. Each week serve 100-150 people, through our partnerships with other volunteers from churches, synagogues, and non-profit organizations. Visit the Chapel on the Green Website for more information on how to get involved, as an individual or a group.
Columbus House
Every third Tuesday of the month a group of volunteers from Trinity cooks and serves a meal at New Haven’s largest homeless shelter, Columbus House.

Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK)
The Downtown Evening Soup Kitchen (DESK) serves dinner nearly every evening of the week. Trinity participates by serving food every second Tuesday of the month.
Loaves & Fishes
Our Episcopal neighbors at St. Paul & St. James Church in Wooster Square hosts Loaves & Fishes, a pantry that provides a weekly bag of groceries, access to the clothing closet, a kid's corner, and pop-up health clinic to the New Haven community. Trinity has deep ties to Loaves & Fishes and volunteer help is always needed – and clothing donations are welcome! Contact: Leigh Cromey.
