Celebration of the Life of Richard Coover

Richard Coover died at St. Raphael Hospital in New Haven, CT on Friday, August 13, 2021, after prolonged suffering from chronic illness and his own decision to enter hospice care. He lived a complicated life, full of struggles with addition, homelessness, and embracing his LGBTQ+ identity. On his good days, Rich was a blessing to those who knew him out on the New Haven Green. Rich is remembered fondly for playing the tambourine with joy at Chapel on the Green services. His life is celebrated by his family, and his found family at Chapel on the Green and Trinity Church on the Green, in New Haven.

A funeral service, with internment of ashes, will be held at Trinity Church on the Green on Saturday, August 21 at 9:30am.
