“Remember you are Dust, and to Dust you shall Return”

This Ash Wednesday, rather than receiving a cross of ashes on your forehead, we invite you into a different practice. Go outside and gather a small container of dirt, saying the traditional words: “Remember you are dust, and to dust you shall return.” Keep this container of dirt with you throughout the season of Lent. Two weeks before Easter, plant a seed in the dirt and watch it grow. Remember you are dust - and that out of dust, God has made new life grow.
