This Sunday, April 3rd, Trinity will welcome Adrian Bonenberger for a Coffee Hour talk on the unfolding war in Ukraine. Adrian recently spent two weeks in Western Ukraine training local volunteer defense forces in leadership and logistics coordination. This work was featured in a recent CNN segment (below), and we are grateful that he’s willing to share his insights with us.
A graduate of Yale, Columbia, and SUNY Stony Brook Southampton, Bonenberger served as an army infantry officer in the 173rd Airborne Brigade and the 10th Mountain Division. Following his two tours of duty in Afghanistan, Bonenberger left the Army with two bronze stars, three army commendation medals (one for valor in combat), and an army achievement medal and has since written a war memoir, Afghan Post, and edited The Road Ahead, an anthology of original veteran fiction. He is currently the director of the Yale School of Medicine’s social media, the editor of Yale Medicine Magazine, and a board member of the Yale Veterans Association.
