Serve the Present…

Deep in our hearts we all want to make a difference.  One way of bringing purpose to our lives is by helping and supporting activities that encourage and have impact on the lives of others. What we value is reflected through our choices about where we spend our time and resources.

As a community of believers, our giving journey begins with reflecting on our values and then setting priorities for the purpose of allowing God to work through us to make a difference in our community and in the world.

We are grateful that you have chosen to learn about our programs and support the mission and people of Trinity on the Green. By spreading the good news of God’s grace, and providing encouragement and hope, we are changing lives one person at a time.

Thank you for your gifts and tithes! We are excited to see what God will be able to do through you.

Grace and Peace.

“Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” 2 Corinthians, 9:7

Endowment Gifts

Contributing cash, appreciated equities, or other assets to Trinity’s endowment—either now or as legacy gift through your estate planning— is another important form of stewardship. Endowment income allows Trinity to plan for large expenses, mostly related to our building, our choir programs, and our outreach ministries. A healthy, growing endowment is critical to ensuring Trinity’s fiscal health today and for future generations. Scroll down to learn more about planned giving.

Pledge or Partner

Pledge: You may make an annual pledge to support the Church’s overall operating budget. Making your pledge and scheduling payments allows Trinity to confirm its annual operating budget. Funds from pledging help Trinity maintain the Church building, administer the parish, and provide for the Church’s many programs and outreach ministries. Because a pledge to Trinity is not a legally binding contract, payment may be made through most donor-advised funds as an alternate to paying by check or online.

Partnership: Another way to contribute to the operating budget is through an annual designated donation to a particular need at Trinity, either separate from or in addition to pledging. You may make a one-time contribution or schedule periodic payments. Many of Trinity’s partners are friends of the church who do not identify themselves as members, but value and provide critical support to the music program or one of our outreach ministries.

To arrange or modify a pledge or Partnership, contact the Business Manager at (203) 624-3101 or email Business Manager.

Planned Giving

Building Upon Generations of Legacy Gifts to Provide for Trinity’s Future

Creating a will and identifying beneficiaries of your assets is an important part of defining your legacy. A planned gift to fund the future of Trinity Church—in any amount—offers a tangible expression of your spiritual connection to the parish and your care for its people.

Lucy Boardman, one of Trinity’s most generous benefactors, set a brilliant example of the power that a bequest can have on people and organizations. Members of the Lucy Boardman Legacy Society are the parishioners who have provided for the Church through a planned gift of any type as an important part of their stewardship. We invite you to prayerfully consider joining this group and look forward to providing you with further resources to guide your decision-making and answer any questions you may have.

What is Gift Planning?

Planned giving encompasses a variety of ways that gifts can be made to the church from accumulated resources. It usually involves financial or estate planning; however, it is not reserved for the wealthy. Planned giving is a means by which anyone concerned with the wise use of his or her personal resources makes a considered choice about their ultimate disposition. In general, planned gifts are made through:

A Bequest in a Will

A Life Income Gift such as a pooled income fund, a charitable gift annuity, or a charitable remainder trust

Gifts of Special Assets (real estate, closely held stock, life insurance, retirement accounts)

Planned Giving establishes a way for a donor to provide for family members while also providing for the church and other valued charitable organizations. It often enables the donor to provide more for his or her heirs and to make a larger gift than was thought possible while reducing tax liabilities. Planned gifts are either outright gifts (i.e., gifts of appreciated securities, real property, personal property, etc.) or deferred gifts (i.e. bequests, charitable gift annuities, charitable trusts). Most are unrestricted gifts to the Trinity endowment fund, but they can also be designated for a specific purpose.

Thank you for considering making the future of Trinity Church a part of your legacy. There is great peace of mind to be found in having your end-of-life affairs in order so that you know you have expressed your wishes and they will be honored. Please let us know how we can assist you with the process.
