You are welcome here.

We are a diverse, multigenerational community that welcomes ALL with love and joy: individuals, couples, families, adults, teens, and children.  Whoever you are, whomever you love, wherever you are on life’s journey, you are welcome at Trinity on the Green.

Who We Are

Trinity on the Green is a historic Episcopal Church located in the heart of New Haven, on the New Haven Green. At Trinity we recognize that there is more than one way to connect with one another and with God, as reflected in the breadth of our programs. We connect with God aesthetically - through choral music, theater, art installations, and readings. We connect with God ethically - serving Christ through serving others out on the New Haven Green and beyond. And we connect with God spiritually - through reflection, meditation, “Godly play,” Bible study, and prayer. We join together every Sunday for our common worship, when all of these strands are brought together at the heart of our worship, the Table of God.

Journey deeper into a life of faith here at Trinity. Whether you are young or old, a long time Christian or a stranger seeking truth - you are welcome here.

Membership

What does it mean to be a member at Trinity Church on the Green?

Come - You are a part of our community as soon as you walk through our doors – welcome! We hope you will consider ways of finding a deeper sense of belonging, through our common worship. Baptism is how we welcome new members into the church, whether they are infants or adults. If you have been baptized already, but are looking to mark a new beginning of faith in your life, you might consider Confirmation, Reception, or Reaffirmation. Each of these are distinct and beautiful ways of committing to follow Jesus, with the love and support of our community, and we can talk more about what step might be meaningful and appropriate for you. Reach out to one of our Rev. Luk or Rev. Heidi, so that we can get to know you better, and what has led you to this place!

Join us on your spiritual journey

Become a member.

Connect - We encourage our members to walk deeper in faith by getting involved in our programs, whether you are drawn to our children and family ministry, choir, Bible studies, or outreach. Our Wardens and members of our Volunteer Committee are available to help you get connected!

Give - Whether you give through volunteering or making a regular financial pledge, our community is built on a spirit of generosity. Members make an annual pledge of financial support. Small or large, this pledge is a way of supporting the work that we do without not just on Sunday, but throughout the week – proclaiming the Gospel through service, music, community connections, and more.

We are Episcopalian

We are a part of the “Episcopal branch of the Jesus movement,” in the words of our Presiding Bishop the Right Reverend Michael Curry. This means that we are Christians, who are also formed out of the rich aesthetic and theological tradition of the Episcopal Church. Our beliefs are shaped through scripture, tradition, and reason - through our relationship with God, and our relationships with one another. While the Episcopal tradition originated in the Church of England, it has spread throughout the world in diverse expressions of the loving, liberating, and life-giving way of Jesus Christ.
