Creation & the Kingdom of God

From the very first stories in our Holy Scriptures, God names human beings as caretakers of creation. God became physically present in the world in a profound way through Jesus, and God’s spirit remains present among us – woven into our lives and throughout the natural world.
At Trinity, we commit to caring for creation because God named us as stewards of the earth, and because we recognize that creation is sacred and worth protecting, just as we would honor and protect a church or a temple. The pursuit of environmental justice is nothing less than the pursuit of the kingdom of God – a pursuit embodied in the words of the Lord’s Prayer: “Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is heaven.” Our commitment to environmental justice is an extension of our love for God, and our love for our neighbors.

Earth Keepers Corner
Our Creator has brought us a beautiful May and there is important environmental justice work being done in our Legislature. Come be an Advocate at Lobby Day on Senate Bill 4 on Wednesday, May 17 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at the Capitol Building. SB 4, An Act Concerning Current and Future Housing, includes tenant protections, financial incentives for affordable housing, and $600M for energy efficiency, weatherization, solar, and clean energy for Environmental Justice communities.
