Trinity Church on the Green and the Episcopal Church at Yale will join together this Sunday at 5pm to commemorate the Faithful Departed with a choral Eucharist, featuring selections of Requiem, Op. 9 by Maurice Duruflé.
Prayers will be offered for all the faithful who have been called home to Christ and especially to those named by parishioners for commemoration.
After the 10 am combined Eucharist service, we will commence with the Parish Meeting and potluck at 11:15 am. Please stay for this wonderful time of fellowship! Specific topics will include a presentation on new initiatives in our Trinity Outreach and Justice program, on Planned Giving and an update on our Realm database project. There will be special activities for the children.
Please bring your favorite dish. A-K side dish or salad, L-Z main dish, enough for 8 people. Dessert will be provided. Please bring food ready to serve or needing just a quick reheat. Oven space is limited. Don’t forget to label your utensils and kitchenware.

Annual Parish Picnic
Sunday, September 8th, 10am to 2pm
10:00 AM Service at Lighthouse Point Park followed by Parish Picnic
Join us for our annual Parish Picnic starting with the 10:00 AM Worship Service at Harbor Pavilion at Lighthouse Point Park. Trinity will provide hamburgers, hot dogs, veggie burgers, condiments, and beverages. Our traditional BBQ comes with the usual shared potluck contribution, this year’s names A-N: side dish and O-Z: dessert.
Please come join your church family for a fun and relaxing afternoon together!
Note: On this picnic Sunday there will be, as usual, a 7:45am service and the 2:00pm Chapel on the Green service. Exceptionally there will be no 10:00 am service at the church.
Those with a New Haven beach pass will be able to park as usual. Trinity has reserved a block of parking passes at the park entrance for those who do not already have a pass, but as quantities are limited, please only request a Trinity parking pass at the gate if you don’t already have parking privileges at Lighthouse Point. Check your email in the days leading up to the picnic or call the office for more detailed instructions regarding parking and other logistics. Note that the 7:45 Rite I service and Chapel on the Green will meet at Trinity as usual.
Please bring your own chair, especially if sitting at a picnic table might prove problematic or uncomfortable.
Please be sure to dress for the weather (Current forecasts suggest a high of 73 and a low of 53 for September 8th) and bring sunscreen!
For anyone providing transportation to folks with mobility issues, drop-offs may be made at the Pavilion prior to parking.

More about Adler and Hearne
Texas-based acoustic duo Adler & Hearne, national-touring performing songwriters who describe their music as “a spirited blend of original Folk-Jazz with deep Texas roots. The duo’s musical formative years share common experiences in folk, gospel and classical music – organic influences that inform their singing and songwriting. But the subject matter of their songs knows no bounds, nor does their musical style. Their live sets range from crooning songs of love and longing, losing and finding – to covering touchy subjects with unexpected musical overtones – to camping it up with modern day spirituals steeped in dry wit. And they pride themselves on their multigenerational audience appeal.
