Trinity has 15 vestry members. Each of us is a parish member who serves Trinity as a volunteer. Together with the Rector, the Senior and Junior Wardens, the Clerk and the Treasurer, we make up Trinity’s governing board.
We vestry members serve three-year terms. To provide for both continuity and renewal, a new class of five volunteers is proposed by a nominating committee then elected each year by Trinity’s members at the church’s annual meeting. Wardens must serve as vestry members prior to their election. Each warden is elected to a four-year term, two as Junior Warden before moving on to become Senior Warden for two more years.

We meet monthly with the Rector, Wardens, Treasurer and Clerk. It’s our job to: function productively as a governing team; understand and represent the views of Trinity’s members; support and provide counsel to the Rector; ensure that Trinity works efficiently and plans strategically; provide for constructive use of Trinity’s resources; and, at a time of transition, help guide Trinity in searching for and calling a new Rector.
Any parish member is eligible for consideration as a vestry nominee. Those who might wish to serve on the vestry are encouraged to make their interest known to the Rector and Wardens. While being a vestry member takes a good commitment of time, each of us can say without question that it is both worthwhile and exceedingly rewarding to serve!
