The Parish Choir is a mixed adult choir comprising members of the parish and other interested singers. The Parish Choir rehearses weekly on Thursday evening from September through early June and sings for approximately two Sunday morning services a month and at other important parish services. The music of the Easter Vigil, one of the most dramatic and moving services of the liturgical year, is always led by the Parish Choir. During the summer months, they form the core of the volunteer choir that leads the music at the 10am service.
The choir sings a variety of sacred choral music, from plainsong, great classical works for the service, to gospel. As a four-part choir (SATB), they always work towards a sense of balance and ensemble. The members of the Parish Choir greatly value their opportunity to serve the Lord through their music.
Trinity’s Parish Choir relies on volunteer singers and is eager to welcome any who think they might have interest. This spirited group of adult singers performs two Sundays a month during the regular church year, and weekly during Summer Sundays when other Trinity Choirs are on Summer holiday. The choral background of Parish Choir members varies widely—from experienced singers to enthusiastic amateurs. Professional section leaders help the group master repertoire during each service performance.
New adult members are welcomed without audition. This friendly group sings in a service twice monthly. Those interested in joining the choir should email Walden Moore or call the Music Office (203) 776-2616 for more information.
