Trinity will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising this June with art, film, and music. The Stonewall Uprising is frequently cited as the beginning of the long march towards liberation for the LGBTQ community. The celebration will begin on June 13th with an Art Show in the nave of the Church featuring art by, about, and collected by the LGBTQ Community and a reception from 7:00-9:00 pm, after which we will gather on the Green for a public showing of the PBS American Experience documentary Stonewall Uprising starting at 9:00 pm.
On Saturday June 15th members of the Trinity Community will march together in Middletown’s LGBTQ Pride Parade. Bringing it home in true Episcopal tradition, on Sunday June 16th we will come together for a 5:00 pm Evensong.
Mark your calendar and look for more news commemorating this landmark event. If you are interested in submitting a piece for the Art Show or wish additional information, please contact Bill Pagano at email@example.com .
